Live6 Alliance set out to create a stronger sense of identity across the Livernois and McNichols corridor while celebrating the unique character of Fitzgerald, Bagley, Martin Park, and University District. Aliado partnered with the organization to develop a placemaking and visual identity system rooted in community input, local history, and neighborhood pride.

Through community engagement, location mapping, and visual identity design, we created a flexible system of neighborhood crests, colors, typography, and streetscape applications that helps unify the corridor while giving each neighborhood its own voice.

Community meetings and mapping exercises helped uncover the stories, landmarks, and gathering places that became the foundation of the identity system.

Rather than creating a single symbol for the entire corridor, we developed a family of neighborhood crests that celebrate what makes each community distinct while reinforcing a shared connection across Live6.

Each crest was inspired by themes, landmarks, and values identified through community engagement, creating symbols that reflect the character of each neighborhood while contributing to a larger corridor-wide identity.

A unified typography, color, and graphic system connects all four neighborhoods while allowing each one to maintain its own visual character.

The Live6 placemaking initiative established a visual framework that helps unify the corridor while celebrating the identity of its four neighborhoods. Designed to live across streetscapes, public art, signage, and storytelling, the system creates opportunities for residents to see themselves reflected in the places they call home.
